Don Schumacher Racing introduces two exciting new features to its shoeracing.com website, "Ask us Anything" and "In the News," which will further enhance driver accessibility to fans of the NHRA POWERade Drag Racing Series.
DSR brings its all-star lineup of drivers and crew chiefs to the table for "Ask us Anything," where fans will be able to submit questions online to team owner Don Schumacher's "cast of characters": Tony Schumacher, Gary Scelzi, Ron Capps, Jack Beckman, Cory McClenathan, Jerry Toliver, and Chip Ellis. Crew Chiefs Ed "Ace" McCulloch, Todd Okuhara, Steve Tartaglia and Mike Green will also participate to give insight on the mechanics of a Top Fuel Dragster, Nitro Funny Car, and a Pro Stock Motorcycle.

Pontoon Beach, IL - February 18, 2008 - Some of the top NHRA drivers in the country will be trying to figure out how to go in circles instead of just heading straight down the drag strip when they come to Tri-City Speedway and race U.M.P. DIRTcar Pro Late Models around the 3/8 mile dirt oval. Scheduled for Thursday, May 1st, this event already features nine NHRA stars that have agreed to race in this event and Tri-City Speedway is currently working to add additional NHRA drivers....

Jack Beckman beat Robert Hight to win his fourth Wally in Phoenix at the 24th annual Checker Schuck's Kragen NHRA Nationals at Firebird International Raceway. Beckman qualified his Don Schumacher Racing, Valvoline,Mail Terminal Series Dodge 15th on Saturday. Jack Beckman out ran Mike Neff, then Gary Scelzi, and Jim Head (in that order). To get to the final round, Robert Hight had to beat Gary Densham, independent Bob Bode, and Tommy Johnson, Jr.
Bob Bode deserves special mention, because his self-sponsored AR-BEE Transparent Products Monte Carlo has qualified and competed in both Pomona and Phoenix. He came back from a huge engine explosion on Saturday, that also destroyed the body of his car, to compete against Jack Beckman in second-round eliminations. His performance this season has been better than many big name racers so far. Bob is still looking for sponsors for the 2008 season. Climbing into a Funny Car for the first time since his devastating accident Sept. 23 in Dallas, 14-time champion John Force needed just one warm-up pass before blasting his way to the forefront of the National Time Trials with the quickest and fastest pass of the four-day test session. Force's 4.782 at 327.51 mph was so good he ended up out in the Arizona desert past the final turn-off, but the most prolific Funny Car driver of all time was still smiling when he emerged unscathed from his dusty Castrol GTX Ford Mustang.

New Funny Car champion Tony Pedregon was the closest to Force but he was almost a tenth of a second back with a best of 4.869 at 278.98 mph in his Q Racing Monte Carlo R/T. Gary Scelzi was next with a 4.879 at 318.02 mph in his Mopar/Oakley Charger R/T, while Cruz Pedregon (4.959) and Jerry Toliver (4.992) also dipped below five seconds on the day.

Funny Car drivers Gary Scelzi and Cruz Pedregon attempted to make the main event at the 22nd annual Dodge Chili Bowl Nationals in Tulsa, Okla on Saturday. Despite both drivers having stellar sprint car driving teammates, neither placed high enough to advance to the A-main race.
